I’m going on a cross-country trip. How am I going, airplane (Emirates), train (Amtrak), bus, car, or bike? I am taking the train, Amtrak 800-872-7245. http://www.amtrak.com
I’d choose Amtrak because of the different views all across the United States are different. There’s the Rocky Mountains around the Colorado area, that absolutely magnificent. While on the train on the West Coast, there’s the Pacific Ocean views that I will enjoy. You can get regular seats on the train, or book private rooms. They have a few rooms in different sizes. They have the roomettes, the family rooms, and double rooms. Some of the rooms come with bathrooms, and showers. There’s always showers, and large bathrooms out in the hallway. If you book any of the rooms, your meals are included in the price. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, which can all be arranged to be brought to your room, or there’s the dining service. To use the dining room, you will need to make reservations with the train stewards.
There’s the cafe, that offers different types of beverages, wine, and beer, bottled water, snacks, sandwiches, and more. The cafe is open most of the time. There’s no smoking on the train, if this rule is disobeyed, you will be let off at the next stop. There’s an observation car on the second level, where you can watch the views, and take photos. If you need the lower level, for seating, you can let Amtrak reservations know when booking your trip. You can store your luggage on the first level if needed. There’s checked baggage service.
If you book a room, business class, you can use the VIP Lounges that are in most major cities like Los Angeles, California, Chicago, New York, Washington D.C. and more. The VIP Lounges have television, places to charge phones, laptops, etc. Clean and large restroom to freshen up. They have complimentary soft drinks, waters, and snacks. Be sure to take advantage of Red Cap service, where a valet comes to get you and drive you directly to your train car, if you have mobility issues.
